Overview
Do organisations have souls? From an operations perspective, the structure, processes, and performance measurement of an 'elephant', a firm competing on low cost through economies of scale, is fundamentally different from that of a 'cheetah', an agile organisation competing on time responsiveness. Similar differences exist between firms competing on superior quality, service convenience, etc. In this programme, you will adopt this unconventional approach of looking at the organisation as a whole and develop strategies which cut across functional boundaries while being centred on operations strategy.
You will learn from an award-winning instructor in a live interactive format, about the relationship between the firm-level and operations strategy. You will explore the fundamental premise is that a well designed system is not just a collection of parts but rather a living entity with its own structural characteristics, peculiarities, capabilities, constraints and vulnerabilities.
As you advance in the programme you will learn to:
- Devise strategies that deliver cost efficiency, time responsiveness, superior quality and more
- Integrate operation strategy with sales, marketing, finance and HR strategies
- Develop a balanced scorecard approach towards transforming organisational performance
