This programme is ideal for anyone looking to leverage essential strategy frameworks to enhance decision-making and strategic-thinking capabilities, including middle and senior-level managers, entrepreneurs, early professionals, undergraduate students, as well as graduates.‎

This programme focuses on practical applications of behavioural economics concepts that are relevant across industries, functions and everyday life. Concepts are also taught in a simplified manner which makes the programme beneficial for anyone irrespective of their background.‎

Some examples of practical exercises in this programme include a voluntary contribution game, grading game, stag hunting, the game of chicken, centipede game and more. Each of the exercises is used to explain course topics and answer key questions.‎

No application is required for this programme; you can directly pay the fee and enrol. However, since the programme has limited spots, it is recommended you enrol as early as possible.‎

Anyone can enrol for this programme, there are no eligibility criteria. You do not require any prior knowledge or skills.‎

The programme consists of three learning modules, encompassing 8 key topics that will be taught over 12 sessions. Topics will be explained through a combination of practical exercises, games and interesting readings. You will need to read the assigned study material and come prepared to discuss it with the faculty and peers during the session.‎

While the time commitment may differ for each student, you will be expected to devote roughly 6-8 hours per week to the programme, including 2-hour live sessions twice a week and 2-4 hours of preparatory work. ‎

All sessions are conducted live over Zoom and taught in a faculty-peer discussion format. The sessions will be conducted two times a week - on Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 to 9 p.m IST.‎

• After you’ve enroled, you will get access to study materials, discussion forums and the session schedule on the Coursera platform.
• Once the first module begins, you’ll be able to ask the instructor questions during and post sessions, get feedback on any doubts, and network with peers. ‎

Yes, the programme curriculum includes real-life case studies on multinational corporations and also includes session readings from international authors.‎

Viswanath Pingali holds a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and an MS in Quantitative Statistics from ISI. He specialises in applied game theory, econometrics and behavioural economics. He teaches core as well as elective courses at IIMA, including this certificate course for the flagship two-year MBA and the one-year PGPX programme. He received the SRK Distinguished PGPX Faculty Award in 2019 and has extensive consulting and training experience with companies like Google, ONGC, Tata Motors, CCI, Mahindra, and leading law firms in India. He has published 17 journal articles with prominent national and global authors.‎

You must attend a minimum of 9 live sessions at the scheduled time to receive this certificate. If you are unable to attend a session, you may watch the recording and submit a brief report on your insights from the recorded class discussion. ‎

Except for the minimum required attendance, there are no other passing criteria for this certificate. However, there may be small assignments to be submitted at the end of each learning module.‎
